Inside Our Coating Facility

We built industrial painting and coating services into our own operation for schedule certainty. When coating stays in the building, we control when your steel enters the booth and when it ships, instead of waiting on an outside coater’s queue.
Keeping the work in-house also removes a handoff. Steel that travels to a third-party coater gets loaded, transported, and unloaded twice, and every touch risks damage to a prepared surface or a fresh coat. Our parts move from steel fabrication to blasting to coating without leaving the site.
That continuity extends to quality. One inspection program governs the work from surface preparation through final coat, so nobody reconciles two contractors’ records. Coating indoors under controlled temperature and humidity takes weather out of the schedule, and our curing room brings parts to full cure on a predictable timeline. The facility covers 14,000 square feet of blasting, painting, metalizing, and curing space.
Quality Assurance and Certification
Industrial coating inspection services separate a documented coating from a hopeful one. Every part begins with a solvent clean per SSPC SP1, because abrasive blasting drives surface contamination into the profile rather than removing it.
- SSPC QP3 certification: Our shop coating program holds certified contractor accreditation, auditing surface preparation practice and application control, not just finished results.
- NACE Level III Coatings Inspectors: Our inspectors verify profile, thickness, and cure at each stage.
- AISC Certified Fabricator with Sophisticated Paint Endorsement: A combination few fabricators in the region hold, covering structural fabrication and the coating applied to it.
Our facility also runs under the emissions controls that apply to industrial surface coating operations. Documentation follows our industrial structural steel coating services from prep through final coat. That way, you receive an inspection record that evidences compliance with the specification.
Industries We Serve
Most of our coating work goes to assets that will not be recoated for decades.
- Oil and gas: Petroleum storage tanks, pressure vessels, and process equipment where product compatibility and vapor space exposure drive lining selection.
- Water and wastewater: Potable and municipal water assets requiring sanitary linings, plus treatment structures exposed to aggressive chemistry. Coating specification is one of the earliest decisions in any water reservoir project.
- Marine and waterfront: Piling, casing, and structures under constant chloride exposure, where metalizing outperforms conventional systems.
- Energy and infrastructure: Penstock, structural steel, and heavy plate assemblies for long-service installations.
- Government, DOT, and Army Corps: Public infrastructure work with documentation requirements that leave no room for interpretation.
We coat shop assemblies and components bound for site work, including field erected tanks and vertical storage tanks prepped and coated before assembly.
Why Specify T BAILEY LLC as Your Industrial Coating Company
Most fabricators treat coating as the last step before shipping. We built a dedicated coating operation with its own equipment, certified crews, and inspection program, which is why other shops send us their steel.
That depth makes us an industrial coating specialist rather than a fabricator with a paint booth. We handle the work that gives general coaters trouble, including oversized assemblies, metalizing specifications, and coating records that have to satisfy a federal owner. When your project calls for coating scope beyond a single system, we deliver it turn key alongside our broader steel construction capability.
