Automated Plating Process
Our surface preparation process is automated here at T BAILEY, INC. Not only is having an automated process safer, it is also much more efficient. The primer is then applied manually by a professional, ensuring full coverage. Pre-priming means clients are provided with steel that can be used right away without needing further cleaning such as paint removal.
Preparing the steel plate centers around abrasive cleaning, which can sometimes be sandblasting, followed by the coating of the steel with a pre-primer. This pre-primer is extremely thin; if it was cut or welded, it would not give off toxic fumes in the same way other options would. It is designed to be a protective layer.
‘Plate’ refers to all steel, including beams, tubes, or pipes, and not only a flat singular piece of metal. All formations of steel can have the priming applied to it, and it serves to make the surface of the steel smooth and ready for the surface or top coat. Painting/Priming
All of T BAILEY, INC.’s teams operate simultaneously, meaning that your project will continually be making progress. One of our innovative structural systems is the rail system. When the steel plates are finished in one stage of the process, they can be easily and quickly moved to the next one.
First, the steel plate will be sandblasted in order to properly clean it. We have an automated blaster that continually services the part. Following blasting, the steel plate will be thoroughly covered with the pre-primer, guaranteeing a smooth and even surface.
