T BAILEY INC.’s Pressure Vessel Fabrication Process

The fabrication process begins once our design engineers have completed modeling your ASME pressure vessel. T BAILEY INC.’s pressure vessel fabrication division usually executes their work in this order:

  1. Cut and etch the steel plate using CNC plasma cutting machines.
  2. Roll the plate into cylinders of the required diameter.
  3. Weld the longitudinal seam of the cylinder.
  4. Attach one head and join the cylinders to form the vessel shell.
  5. Attach the final head to the pressure vessel with single or tandem head welding manipulators.
  6. Cut nozzle locations into the pressure vessel and install nozzles.
  7. Attach additional hardware, lifting devices, or structural supports.
  8. Manufacture and attach ladders, platforms and other accessories per customer requirements.
  9. Subject the completed pressure vessel to rigorous testing and quality control in order to ensure the vessel’s integrity.

ASME Pressure Vessel Testing & Quality Control

T BAILEY INC.’s Director of Quality Assurance is a CWB Certified Welding Supervisor and AWS Certified Welding Inspector who makes sure that every pressure vessel we fabricate is able to pass a series of comprehensive and intensive testing.

The testing we do includes:

  • Visual inspection and step by step monitoring of all processes to ensure the best possible quality
  • Radiographic Testing (RT)
  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  • Heat treating and stress relieving
  • Hardness Testing
  • Impact Testing
  • Positive Material Identification (PMI)
  • Leak Testing
  • Hydrostatic Testing, up to 2,500 psig
  • Environmental monitoring and reporting
  • Soluble Salt Testing
  • Full blast and lining profile measuring
  • Dry film thickness testing
  • Adhesion Testing
  • Lining continuity (holiday) testing

By working with T BAILEY INC., you can rest assured that every pressure vessel you receive from us has been fabricated according to the highest of ASME standards and has successfully passed a thorough examination by our testing experts.

AISC Painting & Blasting For Pressure Vessels

To protect your pressure vessel against corrosion, T BAILEY INC. begins the coating process in the early stages of fabrication and makes sure that your vessel receives a quality coating engineered specifically for it. Our blasting and AISC painting services include:

  • Material prewash to eliminate oils, soluble salt, and other contaminants per SSPC SP1
  • Preparing the steel via machine or manual blasting
  • Metalizing
  • Prime and finish coating and lining with epoxies, urethanes, zinc, enamels, and vinyl ester coatings

By blasting and painting your vessel in our facilities, T BAILEY INC. can control the work and timeline to ensure that we meet your project’s budget and schedule.

Shipping Options

T BAILEY INC’s state-of-the-art facilities are just 5 miles from the Anacortes deep-water port, 7 miles from our rail spur, and 10 miles from a major interstate. Close proximity to these shipping options gives us the ability to provide you with the most economical shipping option for your project.

Our shipping options are:

  • Trucking: we have our own expert truck drivers who can deliver completed pressure vessels to local job sites. For farther distances or oversized loads, T BAILEY INC. coordinates with skilled outside trucking companies.
  • Barge: if your job site has water access or is located in Alaska or Hawaii, then we can coordinate barge or steamship delivery for your pressure vessel.
