Industrial Coating Services: A Company You Can Rely On

High-Performance Industrial Coatings Group

T BAILEY LLC provides industrial coating services from our coating facility in Anacortes, Washington. We coat structural steel and storage tanks, pressure vessels and heavy fabricated parts. Surface preparation feeds straight into coating application and metalizing on one dedicated line inside our own building, so a single team controls your steel from bare metal through final cure.

Your components may arrive as finished assemblies from another shop or move straight off our fabrication floor. Either way, we match the industrial coating solutions to the stored product and the service environment under the governing specification. Since 1991, we have coated steel for refineries and treatment plants as well as waterfronts and federal infrastructure from the Northwest down the West Coast and out to Hawaii. That experience tells us which coating systems last in each of those environments.

What Industrial Coating Protects Against

Steel in industrial service fails from the outside in. Corrosion, abrasion, chemical attack, and weather exposure work the surface long before they reach structural steel, and the coating system is the only barrier between the asset and its environment.

Coating failures are expensive because they surface late. Undercutting, pinhole porosity, and poor adhesion at the profile develop quietly, then present as active corrosion once the asset is in service and hard to reach. Repairing a failed system in the field costs far more than applying the correct one in a shop, and the downtime exceeds the material cost.

That is why industrial protective coating services are only as good as the surface preparation underneath them. A correctly profiled, correctly cleaned substrate determines whether a system reaches its designed service life.

Our Industrial Coating Services

We handle industrial blasting and coating services as one continuous operation rather than separate contracts. Our industrial metal coating services cover the following scopes.

  • Surface preparation and blasting: Our Wheelabrator automated shot blast system processes heavy steel at production speed, and hand blasting covers detail work, complex geometry, and areas the automated line cannot reach. A shot recovery system returns spent abrasive to the blast pot so crews work continuously, and rotating wheel handling turns the part for a profile matched to the coating system being applied.
  • Coating application: We apply primers, high-build epoxies, polyurethanes, and plural component systems that cure quickly and hold up under sustained exposure. Where the specification is still open, we can provide suggestions on the system best matched to the exposure, drawing on our experience across many types of industrial coatings and their applications.
  • Metalizing: Metalizing sprays molten metal onto prepared steel, forming a mechanical bond that outlasts conventional paint in aggressive service. We metalize with pure zinc wire and pure aluminum wire, then seal the surface with a durable topcoat. Our metallizing and thermal spray page covers the process in depth.
  • Non-skid surfacing: We apply abrasive non-skid systems to decks, platforms, stair treads, and any walking surface where traction is a safety requirement.

Because blasting, priming, painting, metalizing, and curing occupy separate stations on the same rail line, our crews run parts through different stages at once, including fabricated steel weighing well beyond 100,000 lbs.

Testimonial

There was no better intermediary for ensuring the construction project was always running smoothly and at its peak. They were a great coordinator and leader; able to convince everyone from subcontractors to engineers to follow their lead. This is because they exude knowledge and expertise that inspires trust in their work.

The Nyanza Tank and Booster Replacement had many scheduling hurdles to overcome by T Bailey. The District needed to build the new 2MG tank and booster station while keeping the existing online. T Bailey was able to work with the surrounding neighborhood, come up with innovative solutions, and bring the new tank and booster station online smoothly and with very few changes to the project.

I would like to suggest you work with the company, TBailey LLC
I strongly reference the partnership of the company for your contractor.

T Bailey LLC has built over a dozen petroleum storage tanks for our site and rebuilt a number of others in our working tank farm in the last several years.

While known for their remarkable speed to complete their work, in our case, it has been done safely despite very congested working conditions with the other trades and often rough weather conditions- both high winds and rain. Work was stopped appropriately when wind was a problem and proper precautions were taken.

Highly experienced oversight was brought in on the more challenging tasks to insure safe completion at our site. T Bailey’s equipment is usually the newest and in the best condition, which I’m sure helps their success.

We’d recommend T Bailey LLC for future work.

TARGA SOUND TERMINAL LLC

T Bailey worked diligently from the initial quote stage through fabrication to meet the needs of our client and have demonstrated their professionalism and experience at every turn. They have opened their doors and entertained multiple visits from both ROC Equipment and SFI before and during the fabrication process. While onsite, T Bailey representatives answered various technical questions that demonstrated their vast knowledge of the product and the drilling industry in particular. The attention to detail and QA/QC was obvious when observing the fabrication process and both ROC and SFI were extremely impressed. Employees took great care in their work, which says a lot about the employees themselves, but also their employer. T Bailey has also been very amenable to any design changes and schedule changes that have been requested by our client.

Above all, it has been TBailey’s product that has been so superior. The exceptional rolling, welding, and flush grinding actually caused excitement when the casing arrived to the project jobsite.

Based on this response and our own satisfaction, T Bailey will be ROC’s casing fabricator of choice, regardless of where the project is located. Potential savings in shipping costs from a closer fabricator are not worth foregoing the high quality product offered by T Bailey.

Inside Our Coating Facility

Industrial Metalizing & Powder Coating Services

We built industrial painting and coating services into our own operation for schedule certainty. When coating stays in the building, we control when your steel enters the booth and when it ships, instead of waiting on an outside coater’s queue.

Keeping the work in-house also removes a handoff. Steel that travels to a third-party coater gets loaded, transported, and unloaded twice, and every touch risks damage to a prepared surface or a fresh coat. Our parts move from steel fabrication to blasting to coating without leaving the site.

That continuity extends to quality. One inspection program governs the work from surface preparation through final coat, so nobody reconciles two contractors’ records. Coating indoors under controlled temperature and humidity takes weather out of the schedule, and our curing room brings parts to full cure on a predictable timeline. The facility covers 14,000 square feet of blasting, painting, metalizing, and curing space.

Quality Assurance and Certification

Industrial coating inspection services separate a documented coating from a hopeful one. Every part begins with a solvent clean per SSPC SP1, because abrasive blasting drives surface contamination into the profile rather than removing it.

  • SSPC QP3 certification: Our shop coating program holds certified contractor accreditation, auditing surface preparation practice and application control, not just finished results.
  • NACE Level III Coatings Inspectors: Our inspectors verify profile, thickness, and cure at each stage.
  • AISC Certified Fabricator with Sophisticated Paint Endorsement: A combination few fabricators in the region hold, covering structural fabrication and the coating applied to it.

Our facility also runs under the emissions controls that apply to industrial surface coating operations. Documentation follows our industrial structural steel coating services from prep through final coat. That way, you receive an inspection record that evidences compliance with the specification.

Industries We Serve

Most of our coating work goes to assets that will not be recoated for decades.

  • Oil and gas: Petroleum storage tanks, pressure vessels, and process equipment where product compatibility and vapor space exposure drive lining selection.
  • Water and wastewater: Potable and municipal water assets requiring sanitary linings, plus treatment structures exposed to aggressive chemistry. Coating specification is one of the earliest decisions in any water reservoir project.
  • Marine and waterfront: Piling, casing, and structures under constant chloride exposure, where metalizing outperforms conventional systems.
  • Energy and infrastructure: Penstock, structural steel, and heavy plate assemblies for long-service installations.
  • Government, DOT, and Army Corps: Public infrastructure work with documentation requirements that leave no room for interpretation.

We coat shop assemblies and components bound for site work, including field erected tanks and vertical storage tanks prepped and coated before assembly.

Why Specify T BAILEY LLC as Your Industrial Coating Company

Most fabricators treat coating as the last step before shipping. We built a dedicated coating operation with its own equipment, certified crews, and inspection program, which is why other shops send us their steel.

That depth makes us an industrial coating specialist rather than a fabricator with a paint booth. We handle the work that gives general coaters trouble, including oversized assemblies, metalizing specifications, and coating records that have to satisfy a federal owner. When your project calls for coating scope beyond a single system, we deliver it turn key alongside our broader steel construction capability.
